The Integrated Systematic Approach for the Development of Migrant Worker Families (InSA) Training Programme was held on 9 January 2026 at Riviera Resort, Batticaloa, with the participation of 52 officers representing divisional and district-level institutions. The programme aimed to strengthen an integrated, multi-sectoral approach to preparing and monitoring family development plans for migrant worker families, thereby enhancing their economic, social, and psychosocial well-being.

The inauguration was graced by senior officials, including Dr. Sugath Yalegama, Additional Secretary – MoFAFET; Mr. K. Nikarilkanth, Senior Assistant Secretary – MoFAFET; Mrs. Sutharshini Srikanth, Additional Government Agent – Batticaloa; and Mr. P.G.G.S. Yapa, Additional General Manager – SLBFE. Their presence underscored the importance of coordinated institutional efforts in supporting migrant worker families and highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening service delivery at the local level.

The programme was fully implemented, financed, and coordinated by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), in close collaboration with MoFAFET, SLBFE, and the Batticaloa District Secretariat. With its successful completion, all planned InSA district-level trainings have now been concluded, reinforcing institutional collaboration and ensuring more effective, coordinated support for migrant worker family development across the country.
